RESULTS!
yea! Cassavetes just mastered our second record, Faja Blues, with Rodney Mills, the mastermind behind the first few Skynyrd records (yes, he recorded Sweet Home Alabama, Simple Man, and Free Bird), .38 Special (aka, “Hold on Loosely”), some Doobie Bros, and tons more, including the ORIGINAL “AMEN” BREAK (it was the b-side to a single he recorded for a band called the...
MASTERING
Cassavetes is mastering Faja Blues this evening at the Rodney Mills Masterhouse. He has worked with such fine and diverse acts as: Pearl Jam, Huey Lewis, Lynyrd Skynyrd, REM, Rage Against the Machine, and Curtis Mayfield, and we are excited because we sound like none of those bands.
For The Record
The art is really coming together, too.
new album title: FAJA BLUES
ask us how we named it. you never know what story you’re gonna get.
The Album Title is No Longer a Secret
As you know, we’ve gone through a lot of ideas for the name of this record - most recently “Ghost”. We’ve also gone through a lot of versions of songs and moods in as many months, and Ghost no longer seems appropriate. Now, we turn to nonsense.

available now for pre-order, and very soon in reality.

NEWS FLASH
THE RECORD WILL NO LONGER BE TITLED “GHOST”. We do have a title in mind, but we’ve decided that it’s still a secret. Mixing is all done, and mastering is scheduled for next week. Working on the art right now, which is also lookin pretty great.
Things are moving. We’ll check back in soon.

Cassavetes is very proud to be a part of this project. We contributed a demo of our song, “Hugh, that’s another story” to the video of the making of the Luigi’s Alley mural on 19th Street in Downtown D.C. The mural was designed and painted by none other than Robbie’s sister Rachel (and super artist and great person, Meta Gary). If you’re ever in D.C., check it...
Yes, New Songs, New Record, New Blood, New...
Cassavetes has been off the grid for a while, but all for good cause. We’ve been working on our record, and other projects, and spending time with family and friends. Actually, our second record, Ghost, is in its final stages of mixing now. It should be out March 2010.
Beyond that, it’s not really clear what the future holds for Cassavetes.
but how could it be? It’s the...
