hello innerweb.  it’s been a long time.  Cassavetes has been doing some thinking and changing and recording and writing, and we’ll be back with you, cyberspace, soon.  in the meantime, please enjoy this little ditty from the vaults.  Our friends Minus Music started a remix of the track Everything Has an E from our first record, Funny Story.  I happen to think it’s complete, but they told me it wasn’t, so i have to make that disclaimer.  Either way, it’s a fun experiment.  Enjoy.

check us out.

500 Songs for Kids

we played a version of Beck’s “Lost Cause” last week at the 3rd annual 500 Songs For Kids event, and it went pretty well.  If you like funerals.  (Look for video proof soon).

are we men, or are we the velvet underground?

doing our best

yes, it may not look like it, but looks can be deceiving.

we’re doing our best to get all of this stuff updated.

and to write new songs.

and to finish the new record.

this is the first of a few “b-sides and demos” we’re going to post up here.  this is a very rough, but we think pleasant, new song called When The Bells Rang Out.

the song is by no means finished - this is actually a recording of the band playing/wandering through it about 30 minutes after hearing it for the first time - but it’s got a certain i don’t know qua about it, and i thought you might like it.

as always, there's myspace.

we’re going to keep a lot of fun information here, but keep in mind, we’ll always update Myspace with any upcoming shows etc.  so if you like looking two places for the same news, here’s another chance.

Cassavetes playing Praying Sound at Corndogorama 2008 at Lenny’s Bar in Atlanta, GA.   kind of the eye of the evening (and the set’s) hurricane.
